Sloppy Joe Pizza

By

Grub On

Tonight I made Sloppy Joe Pizza, and I tell you it definitely lives up to its name. Very, very messy!

I made 2 pizzas so had to double everything in the recipe. It made for a fun time, browning 2 ½ pounds of meat was harder than I thought it would be!

We also used regular bean dip over black bean dip, since we already had it. (Hubby didn’t want to bother spending extra money if the regular bean dip would work.)

Along with the pizzas I made garlic bread, so my oven was very busy tonight!

Prep time in the book showed at 10 minutes, but it was more like 20! Then again, I was doing more than one pizza.

After about 11 minutes in the oven it was time to pull the pizza from the oven to give time to cool. While it cooled off I baked the bread.

Caitlyn seemed to love it, finishing her entire pizza and a piece of garlic bread. My son Joshua on the other hand, didn’t seem to be a big fan of it, though he did say it was yummy.

Overall the taste was pretty damn good, though the way the recipe calls for the meat to be cooked caused it to be dry. Maybe more bean dip for the next time.

For taste, I have to give it an A and for presentation, well its sloppy joes and it lived up to that, so I give it a B.

Ingredients:

1pound ground beef

3 tablespoons taco seasoning

1 ready-to-serve pizza crust (12-14 inches in diameter)

1/3 cup black bean dip

1 cup shreddedMontereyjack cheese (4 ounces)

Salsa and guacamole, if desired
