Hypoallergenic Cats

I want to get a cat so bad! I grew up with them when I was a kid, and had one who was totally attached to me.

Her name was Midnight, black long haired, silky smooth. She was my loyal sidekick who would sleep in bed with me, took showers with me, waited for me at the door and even rode on the vacuum when I was doing chores.

Sadly she passed away at 3 years old from liver failure.

I have severe asthma and since moving out have become severely sensitive to cats. But I want one so bad!

Does anyone know of any breed that wouldn't cause me issues? I was told the bambino would be ok, but I just want to get everyones opinions.

Who knows, maybe this will help others who are in similar situations!
