ADT = Crooks
60ADT = Crooks
Beware!
Give ADT your banking information, and they'll screw you over.
We've had them for over a year now, and we've been on automatic payment withdraw. We gave our sales rep a check and my debit card information. He assured me our payments would be pulled from the check and not my debit card.
TALK ABOUT LIES!
We get a bill today for TWO, count them, TWO months because my debit card had expired in January.
First off, no one notified us until two months later that our payments had not pulled. (Yes we probably should have noticed, but really, who watches things like that since its been automatic for over a year?)
Second off, I was told it would be by bank not card, and my bank hasn't changed in over 10 years!
So we do intend to pay our bills, but we had hoped that they would see the issue and give us at least a month extension for one payment... simple right? WRONG!
The first rep told us that it is true, they had never sent any notifications to us before the one we received today, then told us there was nothing we could do and we needed to pay all of it in full to avoid service interruption.
Get a supervisor on the line, he then proceeds to tell us that they DID send notices before this one.... UMMM hello?? the last guy said you didn't! Wow get your stuff together!
Anyway, the supervisor also refuses to assist us, loyal customers, who have NEVER missed a payment until this mix up.
Sadly we can't cancel our service since we're in a contract, but come December, you bet ADT is gone!
So for anyone who has or is considering getting ADT, watch your bills carefully, or you may just get screwed over too!

You're right...ADT is the WORST. It's a scam, they purposely make the paperwork overwhelming and they obfuscate so much that you sign the agreement without really understanding what you're signing. Now...I know we as individuals have a responsibility to understand what kind of contract we're entering into, but there's also a sort of social ethical contract involved whereby the the business that's pushing papers in a person's face gives at least SOME semblance of explanation that accurately outlines the terms of the agreement.
The only time I ever communicate with ADT is when they want money from me. There's literally NO real support. It's essentially "sell them ANYTHING and EVERYTHING whether they need it or not".
And that is all.
